Geometric Embroidery and Photography
2017
This project was inspired by the artist Shaun Kardinal who creates hand-embroidered shapes on top of various photographs and postcards. Through using his work as a starting point, this project further developed his technique by using newly generated geometric shapes and mixing them together with the own photography of the designer.

As for the end product, a decoration accessory was made in the form of layered frames which could be presented in a household alongside personal pictures of the family, layered with embroidery elements.

The design process for this project was different to previous projects as artist research played a significant part to the start of the project. Rather than following a particular design structure, a more casual approach was used, whereby the designer allowed her creative thought process take charge and dictate the direction of the project.

Therefore, this project remains to be one of the more unique explorations of this designer as it shows her versatility when it comes to the design process as well as her use of mixed media techniques.
