The Chaos before the Beauty
The drawings of this project were inspired by the designer’s own imagination and thoughts in order to create a body of work that is unrestrained, free whilst also perfectly embodying the mind of the designer without a filter. The idea to allow the mind to take control of the drawing process as opposed to the use of observation or a physical subject has always been an existing element in drawings from previous work such as the R&D project even if there had been a subject matter. Therefore, for the final major project, it felt appropriate to take a chance and develop an aspect of the drawing process that had never been explored to its full potential.
By allowing the freedom of impulse to control the drawing process, a collection of extremely diverse and exclusive drawings of many different mediums was created to represent the chaos that occupies the mind. The process of using imagination and not unconsciously distinguishing borders due to a particular subject matter, allowed for drawing to become a release for the designer where they could relax and translate the busy thoughts of the mind onto paper, and by doing so, the mind became more at ease, thus allowing the designer to see the beauty in chaos.
